“With every life change comes an enormous chance.” ~ Jack Canfield; Forward
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Even now, a week after my 25th, I can look back at my life and see the chain of events, how one moment affected the next and brought me to where I am. It’s incredible how the smallest thing can have such a great impact, and One Moment Can Change Your Life! Extraordinary Stories about Ordinary People demonstrates this well.
Ulrich Kellerer has compiled a short and inspiring collection of stories that exhibits the transformation of lows to highs and reinforces that it’s all about perspective with Kellerer’s own miraculous life book-ending the tales in between. It perfectly captures the essence of the old adage, “every cloud has a silver lining.” You can find a piece of good in everything.
Each section has its own voice, and I would have loved to have heard these stories firsthand, to see the teller’s eyes and observe their body language as they shared their moments. There were a few stories where a singular, defining moment wasn’t made clear to me, but they were still beautiful tales with their own nuggets of wisdom.
“You may be poor, but don’t ever be pathetic!” ~ Helene Von Q.
I will say that the book didn’t flow like a final draft to me – I felt there could have been more time taken in fine-tuning the details. Regardless, it’s a short and heart-warming read.
